Doug was born in Schwaigern, Germany and raised in Utah in a close-knit family. He watched his dad take a design and an idea and build it into a successful business. Doug's dad spent 300 days a year on the road, but he'll tell you it wasn't about selling. It was about building relationships. Hal built The Little Giant Ladder Company literally from the ground up, selling the product himself and in-person to customers big and small all over the country.
On his own team, Hal believed that the best gift you could give someone was the gift of opportunity. As a result, The Little Giant Ladder Company has many employees that spent the duration of the career working for Hal and the Wing family at Little Giant.
That gift of opportunity was given to Doug at an early age. Doug worked in all phases of the business, starting in production in his teenage years. Throughout his career, Doug literally worked his way up the Little Giant Ladder.
Sharing the same heart for people as his father, Hal, Doug has more than 40 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, sales, sales leadership and executive management. In the last five years of his career with Little Giant, Doug oversaw the cable and telecom industry and was responsible for more than $150 million in sales revenue. He also was a member of the senior management team that helped grow Little Giant to more than $200 Million per year in sales revenue; making Little Giant Ladders the 3rd largest ladder company in the world.
Doug was a co-owner and vice chairman at Little Giant Ladder Systems before retiring in 2019. In 2020, he co-founded Boar Investment Group. Boar’s businesses include multi-family real estate and property management.
In 2022, he released his first book, “Giant Success.” In that same year, he released his second book “The Giver.” They both quickly became Amazon best sellers. His latest book, "Giving Hearts" launches on March 5, 2025.
Doug currently serves on the board of directors of The Honoring Heroes Foundation, a charitable organization that helps fallen police officers and their families. He supports and attends their annual fundraiser ride honoring his father, Hal Wing.
Doug lives in Phoenix and is married to Hayde (pronounced Heidi) Baladjay (pronounced Balad - hi) from the Philippines. He has served two missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Doug enjoys riding motorcycles, playing golf, reading, and fitness. He also enjoys collecting cars and motorcycles.
